Louis Vuitton Returns To The Louvre For Spring 2026

Nicolas Ghesquière has been inspired by the Louvre many times throughout his tenure at Louis Vuitton, and the designer returned to the iconic Parisian museum once again this season. At one time, he took inspiration from what was once the summer residency of Anne of Austria, Queen of France.

While past collections focused more on what to wear outside of the home, often deeply intertwined with Louis Vuitton’s heritage roots in travel, this time, Ghesquière’s creative process began with items worn inside the house—a study of intimacy.

The result of this study? A stunning collection of ready-to-wear that includes everything from jeans and dressed-up joggers to architectural draping and statement outerwear. Though inspired by items worn indoors, this collection is anything but basic, and the intricacies and details are worth a second look.

As for the bags, they include a mix of House icons, both new and old. The Speedy is reimagined and reinvigorated in a myriad of ways, from iterations in printed silk to those fitted with a tiny trunk bottom. Elsewhere, new House icons like the Side Trunk and Express bag are given a seasonal treatment, while the Alma sees an East West makeover in classic Monogram and a floral Monogram print also.

The theme of intimacy and what goes on behind closed doors was also applied to some of the bags, like fancy Dopp kit bags, worn open, showing what’s inside. Some were dressed in bold exotics and others in floral Monogram print or grained leather. View bags from the runway below.
