Louis Vuitton Adds A Bit Of Whimsicality To Its Icons For Fall 2023

First and foremost, Louis Vuitton is a leather goods company, meaning that each season’s bags are a focus of their own, not just an added complement to the RTW. Creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere continues to build momentum on the things he’s already established at Louis Vuitton season after season while bringing new life to some of the brand’s classics.

This season that is ever apparent, as his day one debut, the Petite Malle continues to be a focus on the runway alongside other Ghesquiere designs like the tubular Twist bags from Spring 2015 and the Dauphine bag. Other emblematic handbags like the Alma take on the subtlety of French style.

A Modern French Allure

The collection as a whole aims to explore the enigma that is French style. Fashion remains captivated and intrigued by the art of Parisian style, and this allure inspired Ghesquiere this season, along with Louis Vuitton’s heritage in travel. Artistic details and artful techniques take on new life, and this season the show returned to the Musée d’Orsay, which was the perfect backdrop to the collection.
