Fresh Florals Breathe New Life Into Louis Vuitton Monogram For Fall 2022

It was a lovely afternoon with Louis Vuitton at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris yesterday. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful city that is Paris, it’s likely that you visited the museum, or at least were recommended to do so. Housed in a former railway station, the museum itself is home to one of the largest collections of Impressionist art in the world. At the Musée d’Orsay, you go for the art, but you stay for the architecture and stunning interiors. And it was that backdrop that made this iconic landmark the perfect setting for Louis Vuitton’s fall 2022 runway show, which was presented yesterday.

Fresh Florals Meet Iconic Monogram, With a Youthful Twist

Nicolas Ghesquiere knows how to wow, both within the collections themselves as well as looking at the presentation as a whole, and this season was no different. Overall, the collection is meant to feel romantic and fresh, described as an ode to the youth. Pieces are unconventional, designed to be mixed and matched, and with a continued focus on movement. This movement is a poetic, artful dedication to adolescence, a vivid and inspiring hope for the future.

As for the bags, there were many, and the most interesting feature a fresh, floral take on classic LV Monogram. What looks like a larger version of the half-moon Loop Bag that was introduced for cruise 2022 appears throughout both in classic Monogram and the made-over floral Monogram. Known for showcasing the House’s savoir-faire, the Petite Malle continues to appear on the runway season after season, and this one was no different. Updated versions are given a small top handle and an extended bottom with a gusseted side, instantly creating more room in the petite clutch. New leather bags round out the selection, which is overall unique and beautiful but still mostly wearable.
