The new bag—part shoulder bag, part flap bag, quickly gained traction and buzz within the handbag world ahead of Chanel’s Pre-Collection Spring 2026 drop, which hits boutiques later this week. With Pre-Spring 2026’s official drop coming later this week, there is little official information about this bag out there just yet, but sources are calling this little lady the Preppy Coco bag—chic (it’s also been referred to as the Chanel 26)! The bag is defined by its thin, elongated shoulder straps and square flap bag body, reminiscent of the Chanel bags of the 1960s.

What stands out about this bag is that it’s the first big Chanel push in recent memories that feels like classic Chanel, understated and reminiscent of bags of the past with a true retro feel. In the last few years, big launches like the Chanel 22 and the Chanel 25, have leaned ultra-trendy, so this is a big shift.

So far, this bag looks to be arriving in caviar leather, and has been spotted in hues including yellow, black, navy, beige and white.
