Chanel's Fall 2025 Bags Are So Coco-Coded

Chanel is finally back at the Grand Palais, but despite its homecoming, it is still on the precipice of major change. Matthieu Blazy won’t show his first collection for Chanel until later this year, leaving Chanel’s Fall 2025 show in the hands of its creative studio.

Fall 2025 is a clear continuation of the brand’s Spring 2025 collection, playing on Chanel’s most recognizable House codes. Ready-to-wear is full of brand signatures like tweed sets, ruffles, flowers, ribbons, and bows—lots of them. In true Chanel form, the show’s set was the first indication that this collection would be incredibly Coco-coded as a massive black ribbon tied it all together.

The collection as a whole plays with proportions and volumes, though it is, as to be expected, pretty safe overall. Tweed sets are given a slight twist, with skirt sets and dresses styled over pants, while others are finished with tulle overlays. Back to the bows, the design team played with them throughout, fastening them onto dresses, knits, and more, while collars were finished with bows tied at the neck.

The Bags of Chanel Fall 2025

When it came to the bags, they, too, played on Chanel’s most important House codes. Plenty of tweeds can be seen throughout, alongside embellishments and bows—of course. Pearls, too, are a detail that was focused on this season, and that played into the bags too. Though maxi bags galore were seen, if Chanel has anything to say about it, the mini bag isn’t dead.
