Shearling or velvet were novelty fabrics that trended seasonally, but it was rare for designers to dedicate an entire collection to such niche themes—especially ones that included handbags. Ski—or at least Après-Ski—fashion has changed drastically in the last 15 years, the latter half of which has catered to handbag lovers.
In 2018, Chanel released its first-ever dedicated winter-themed capsule collection. Aptly dubbed Coco Neige (neige is the French word for snow), the collection has since become a yearly tradition for the Maison, one that collectors look forward to year after year.
