Bags (And More) From Virgil Abloh’s Last Pre-Fall Collection For Louis Vuitton

Late last month, as America wound down from the Thanksgiving holiday, the world was shocked to learn of the passing of Virgil Abloh, artistic director of Louis Vuitton menswear. Abloh was a visionary and considered by many to be one of the pioneers of the luxury meets streetwear fashion movement. His work will live on, and his legacy won’t soon be forgotten. Today, we get a little more of that legacy with the brand’s pre-fall 2022 collection, which was designed and photographed prior to Abloh’s death.

Abloh was known for many things, and though his time at Louis Vuitton was cut short, he had plenty of signatures. Most notably, the exaggerated Damier check appears on Keepalls, crossbody bags, and more bags from this collection. As with past pre-fall collections, this one is extremely wearable, from its RTW to its bags; this one is a juxtaposition of change and conventionalism. We can’t (and won’t) soon forget that Abloh helped commercialize the man-bag, making it more commonplace and even coveted than before. As Louis Vuitton, and then Vogue put it, Virgil was definitely here. View bags and more from the collection below.
